Get to know Me!

I'm Norvienne Kopra, I am 26 years old.

I was born and raised in Curacao and then came to the Netherlands to pursue my tertiary education. I recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communication & Multimedia Design, specializing in UX/Visual Design.

Who am I?

I am someone who likes to work in a cozy, relaxed and also calm atmosphere, I can work under pressure but I would prefer relaxed while I’m working.

Besides my school work I like to go outside, hang out with my friends and read. I would describe myself as a very good listener, loyal, curious and cheerful person.

I like discovering new things and learning new things. I do my own research when a topic catches my attention. It's the same with programs and other tools, I like to learn new things.

As someone deeply committed to giving back to my community and supporting educational initiatives, I actively engage in volunteer work to make a positive impact beyond my professional endeavors.

Academic institution visitation

One of the meaningful initiatives I contribute to is "Hogeschoolbezoeken," where I have the privilege of welcoming students from the Caribbean to the Netherlands before their graduation year.

Through this program, I help provide these students with a firsthand look and feel of studying in the Netherlands, offering insights into the academic environment and cultural experiences they can expect.

By facilitating these visits, I aim to inspire and empower the next generation of students to pursue their academic and personal goals with confidence and enthusiasm.

SEA work conference

Additionally, I had the opportunity to represent Haagse Hogeschool at the second SEA work conference held in Curaçao on April 11th and 12th, 2024.

This conference, hosted by the Universiteit van Curaçao Dr. Moises Da Costa Gomez, brought together educational institutions from across the Kingdom of the Netherlands, including VO schools, MBO/SBO schools, and representatives from HBO and WO educational institutions in European Netherlands.

The theme of this conference was "Improving the connection between secondary education and MBO/SBO schools with SEA activities and transition to higher education." Sub-themes such as career choice, strengthening the role of career counselors, and preparation for further education were discussed through panel discussions, workshops, and presentations. The outcomes of the conference will be used to enhance the academic success of Caribbean students.
