About this Project
The goal of this passion project was to redesign an old school project of mine to work on my design skills.
Background
The problem with this project lies in the client's inability to establish intensive, effective, and rapid communication with the target audience. Additionally, the client lacks insight into the preferences of the target audience, hindering their ability to provide adequate support. The problem encompasses three key elements:
- Identifying the optimal method for initiating and maintaining communication with the target audience.
- Determining the necessary information to provide to the target audience to encourage their engagement.
- Developing strategies to motivate residents to remain physically active.
The objective of this assignment is to encourage physical activity among the residents of Escamp, the largest district in The Hague, characterized by low levels of physical activity among its residents. The ultimate goal of the project is to ensure consistent physical activity among residents, thereby enhancing social cohesion within the community.
The client
The assignment involved working with the municipality of The Hague and Haags Sportkwartier. The client has been working for more than a year to get people in the Escamp district moving.
To get more residents moving, the municipality of The Hague launched the 'Haags Sportkwartier' project. Together with The Hague University of Applied Sciences, residents, sports clubs, schools and welfare organisations.
Raising awareness of the importance of sports and exercise, and helping people to actually do so, are central to this project.
Research
During the research phase of the project, the focus was to find the target groups preferences when it came to digital tools and what is their preferred way of being active and moving. This will involve conducting interviews with the target group to gain insights into their preferences and needs. Using the affinity diagramming method, the information collected from the interviews will be analyzed and used to create a Persona that represents the target group.
Persona:
The persona created represented a man in his late 50s who lives with his wife and dog. By having a dog and going on walks with the dog, the persona is then motivated to stay active.
